How to crochet it

  1. Gather your materials

    Worsted weight (#4) yarn in 5 colors, a 5.0 mm (H/8) hook, a tapestry needle, and scissors. About 35 yards total — the largest chart in the animal set, still stash-friendly; the cream belly and the body green use the most.

  2. Check the finished size

    In single crochet at a typical 16 sc × 18 rows = 10 cm gauge, the 31 × 19 chart gives a dino of about 19 × 11 cm. Worked as C2C, each cell becomes one block and the piece comes out around 39 × 24 cm — a C2C dinosaur blanket square that fills a cushion cover.

  3. Work the chart from the bottom up

    One square = one single crochet: start at the tail, build up the body, and place the back spikes last — the cream belly patch keeps your counting honest in the middle rows. Odd rows are the right side (read right to left), even rows the wrong side (read left to right). For C2C, work diagonally from the bottom-right corner.

  4. Change colors cleanly
